In a fantastically entertaining hockey game at Little Caesars Arena, Dylan Larkin scored the game-tying goal late in the third period and then added the game-winner in overtime as the Detroit Red Wings rallied past the Dallas Stars 4-3. James van Riemsdyk opened the scoring for Detroit, while rookie Emmitt Finnie tallied one on the power play. Roope Hintz and Wyatt Johnston each scored power play goals, giving the Stars an NHL-best 36 power play goals so far this season and Johnston his league-leading 14th power play goal. Jamie Benn also scored in the game, his seventh goal and 14th point in 19 games after missing the start of the regular season due to a collapsed lung. The Stars 4-game winning streak came to an end, but their point streak extends to five games (4-0-1) and they are 8-2-1 in their last 11 games.
