Tonight I have a very moving and heartwarming Thanksgiving take. Called The Night Before Thanksgiving Sarah Orne Jewett.
It tells the story of Mrs Robb, who has a heart of gold but might be having Thanksgiving alone this year. Will her adopted son return, or will the owner of the poorhouse take her away? We'll have a listen to see what her fate is?
I found this book in the private members' library I often work from, the book is from 1899 and is beautifully leather-bound with some nice engraving and letterwork.
